Update :)

Welcome back to Mesa Vista and Nora Gainsborough's week!

To recap, I downloaded Nora from MTS, and I don't watch True Blood, so there is no resemblance between her TV and MV characters. She is an Aries 4/8/7/3/3 and Romance, with a LTW to become a Rock God, and in her previous week established she Mesa Vista's first music venue to unlock the Music career.
She also gets to live in the ultra-cool Starving Artist Loft built by eedgan, found here: http://modthesims.info/d/285356

Nora rolled more wants to meet people than having romances with them, including some uni students.
"I'm looking for band members to move in with me, and you look like the perfect band member."
"Aw man, I would do it, but I'm stuck at La Fiesta Tech."
Pity. I thought Nora and Jesse Blum looked good together. Oh well, maybe the situation could be remedied later on...

Tracy Messlot: "The architect in me is very intrigued by your place! In fact, if I weren't so attached to my grandparents' old house, I might... but I am... *sigh*"
"Would you like a tour?"
"Yes!"

"Sure, why not, I could go for a drink."

A date at the spa, even better.

"How odd, I think that's my aunt."
"Are you gonna say hi?"
"Not unless you want our date to come to a very premature end?"
"Let's go inside!"

After it was revealed in Lydia Zarusoba's week that Mesa Vista was a community unusually averse to Music and Dance, guess what Nora Gainsborough discovered?
"Lol, okay! I had a great time, but I probably should say hello to my aunt now."

But after she kissed Jihoon Vijayakar goodnight and he went on his way, Nora's aunt was nowhere to be found...

Nora settled in for a quiet evening studying Mechanical for her job.

Later that night...
"Please, come quick! I can hear someone downstairs!"
...
"Yes, the dreaded music too!"
...
"Thank you!"

"OPEN UP IN THE NAME OF THE LAW!"

"Should I be scared?"
"Why, I'll show you..!"

"Dammit! Sorry, miss, he got away this time."
Mesa Vista really needed to get some cops, this one looked like she had been called away from an undercover assignment.
"And what's wrong with that?"

As it turned out, nothing. I never could figure out what the burglar had stolen, and Nora had no memory of being robbed, or of the cop, and my printscreen program went on the fritz, so I didn't catch her name. Almost like it never happened...

Almost. Nora scoured the following morning's paper for any news on the burglar, but nothing their either.

It was all very weird, if you asked her.
"I don't know, maybe I should call..."

"Hello, it's Nora. Did you happen to see me yesterday? I saw you, but I was on a date, and, er, well, you know how it is..."
...
"Yes, it has been a while. I was wondering if you would like to come over? I could make dinner."

"Darn it!"

"Great."

"Hello, Nora."
"Hi, auntie. Welcome to my humble abode."

"I guess you're wondering why I called, huh?"
"It does seem a bit out of the blue."

"A burglar broke in last night, and I... guess I wanted"
"Don't tell me... protection!"
Nora smiled a little. "No... company. After I saw you yesterday, I thought, why not my Aunt Tiffany?"

"Hey, Nora, what's up?" Jill Fleig asked after barging in, as was her custom.
"Aunt Tiffany, this is Jill. Jill, my Aunt Tiffany."
"Hi, Aunt Tiffany. That reminds me, I should call my aunt too."
"And now for the problem at hand," Aunt Tiffany began.

"This incident has unsettled you."
"Yes."
"What would you say if I knew how to fix it. How much money do you have?"
"Not much, but I just got promoted, so I have a little."
"What about a change of scene then? Jill can keep an eye on the humble abode, can't you, Jill?"
"Sure can."

"All taken care of then. Come on, Nora, it'll be fun!"

"We'll take your cheapest double room."

HOLY SHEESH! After three torturous attempts between Diane Shin and Outside uni girls, the first thing that happened was this!

First order of business: find a treasure map, then nix the topcoat before Nora burst into flames.

"Behold! The Surprise in Pineapple Surprise!"

Nora had found three treasure maps, the third one of course being the one to the Mysterious Hut.

Aunt Tiffany was turning out to be quite a character.
"*Grumble* tourists."

Voodoo doll: check
Dozenth (at least) Hang Loose: check

Nora really got into the vacation, cutely catching little gnats or sandflies, something new for me :)

"Get in, girl, the water's great!"
But something was starting to niggle in the back of Nora's mind. Still...

"I don't understand, dear."
"Paying for the hotel," Nora huffed.
The airfare to Twikkii left Nora with about three hundred simoleons, not enough for even one night in their room at the Blossom Wood Hotel.

"It's no use, I can't sell anything."
"What about the voodoo doll?"
"Good thinking, auntie! *Sigh* ... but no money there either."
"Oh dear, this is my fault, I shouldn't have been so pushy and impulsive."
"It's okay! What's the worst that could happen? They won't let us leave the island?"
"I suppose there are worse things..."

Like walking the plank?

Perhaps not the best choice, considering their recent conversation...

Aunt Tiffany, though, wasn't going to let anything stop her!

"Hey girl! Find anything in the captain's cabin?"

"Why yes I did, I found another map!"

"Do we have enough money for a tour?"
"Sorry, we spent too much on dinner."
"Very well *sigh*. Just call me a melancholy baby."

"We're checking out, and um... what happens if I don't have enough money?"

"Mwahaha, you will never be allowed to leave the island."
"Okay!"
"That's what you all say. Nah, we'll just send you a bill."
"That's it?"
"That's it."
"Wow, thanks!"

"Dodged that bullet."

*Eyeroll* "Tourists."

"Hurry, auntie, before they close the airport and we're trapped here forever!"

Upon their return, Nora went back to her usual busy social life.

Even after all the time spent together on their vacation, Aunt Tiffany was reluctant to move in with Nora, even temporarily.
The voodoo doll instantly took care of that, though.

Lydia Zarusoba, folks, Mesa Vista's newest phone stalker!

Aunt Tiffany was very pleased with her newfound closeness with Nora, but she was pining for her own home.

"Do you have to leave so soon?"
"Yes, dear. You have your life, and I have mine. I miss my garden."
"I'll miss you, but I understand."

"Oh, look at you, my pretties."

"Where did you get those flowers?"
"At the nursery last week, it was all I could afford."
"Well, good job, they're very pretty. I'll call when it's my week and you can come see my place."
"Great!"
"Thanks for everything, dear, goodbye!"
"Bye!"

Nora went to work a summer camp music teacher and returned a battle of the bands music judge. One more promotion and she would get the Rock Hammer career reward.

Back to the old routine to end the week, except... drat!

Nora was short almost a thousand simoleons for paying her taxes, so she opened her music venue, Local Yokels Dance Hall, and for the first time charged admission at §15 per hour.

All that waiting and painting had turned out to be a good strategy, as she was now very proficient on the musical instruments.
"Wow, she's something, isn't she?"
"She sure is!"

"Nothing yet? I wonder if I could possibly..."

Ringo Wendland on the drums and town gr
"SH!"
ahem, Jenna Ebadi at the piano.

Let me repeat, RINGO ON THE DRUMS! :D <3

This time with Scott Wing on the piano.

Ladies and gentlesims, Jade Green!

"Heh, serves the owner right for leaving these unattended."

Later...
"How DARE you let that empty plate of cookies sit on the floor like that."
"The one you just left on the floor, you mean?"

Lol, that face! I don't think I've ever seen that much rage, lol!
"STOP LAUGHING AT ME!"

Clue number two that it was time to call it a night...

No, really, two!
And clue number three: Local Yokels reached level 1, almost level 2. Nora took the cash perks and had some money left over after paying her taxes. Not much, but a lot better than before.

"Aunt Tiffany says you're very pretty and she should know, and I think so too. *Sigh* It's good to be home."

It was, indeed :)
(Aunt Tiffany's house that I placed in St. Hubert is called Affordable House Development in my game, but I can't find it on MTS or Google to provide a link, but I'll keep looking, because it's adorable inside and out.)

I'll close Nora's update with a vacation picture that Aunt Tiffany took of her on the beach.
BaCC quick stats:
Playable Sims: 93 (92 + 1 grave) moved in Tiffany Zarubin from the Garden Club
Sim Multiplier: 35 (no change)
Population: 3255
Thanks for reading and Happy Simming!

Date: 2017-04-07 03:20 pm (UTC)OOoh, burglar! Congratulations!
But what! Are you saying we'll never know what was in that bag the burglar held! That's awful!
The cop "looked like she had been called away from an undercover assignment" : Lol! But it's true.
Aw, a vacation with auntie, how nice. Nora is really wild (takes after her aunt I guess), leaving like that when she can't even afford it.
(Hahaha, Lydia is the phone stalker! I decline all responsibility.)
LoTP wolves on an owned lot!? I didn't think it was possible.
Aunt Tiff's house is so perfect for her. I've never played her, can't wait to see how her first week will go.

Date: 2017-04-10 03:51 am (UTC)My most recent strategy calls for moving in even more townies, and I wanted to do more with Nora than just getting her LTW (I had quite enough of skilling and going to work with the Homelesses, thank you very much), and I remembered you taking a landlord(!) with *looks up* Glen Coleman! It's pretty nice that you don't have to worry about their motives, at least, Tiffany did fine. In fact, I could have gotten away with a cheaper room with one single bed, since she wouldn't sleep in the double with Nora and she never complained about sleep deprivation.
It was a good thing I forgot about no inventory access on vacations, otherwise they wouldn't have gone and I would have missed out on their little bonding session. Oh, the hang loose too! Couldn't believe it when the native girl's picture popped up in Nora's cue, and everyone and their was doing it! It was like a whole different Twikkii than the earlier ones.
I haz planz for Aunt Tiff and her gold gardening badge!

Date: 2017-05-01 07:37 pm (UTC)Nora's place is very pretty, no wonder that it sparked interest in Mesa Vista.
That date seemed to go so well, but alas the hobbies didn't quite match up!
Well Aunt Tiffany seems cool, and nice of her to try and help Nora get over the robbery. (Congrats on that by the way!) Well it was a great idea except for the money thing!
Congrats for the elusive hang loose! :)
I've never seen that animation with the hammock eihter. There's always something new to be found. Oh, and good to know about the vacation being billed when there's no money. Although it wouldn't have been too bad, having to stay forever, either. :)
Another day, another household, huh? Well, I'm looking forward to seeing what Aunt Tiffany gets up to. :)
Mesa Vista is moving right along, another fun update!

Date: 2017-05-18 04:33 pm (UTC)Lakewood's progressing little by little. I mean, I'm not allowed to play forward right now, as the latest update is in the middle of writing, so I'm playing Alphabetia instead. But I usually get at least a couple of pictures captioned per night, so eventually that tends to lead to an update. :)
Edit: And now the comment suddenly showed up... I wonder what was up with that.
